Things you should know before you upgrade
For corporate email users the application RoadSync will be removed. If this application is needed natively to the device, we do not recommend the upgrade.
Upgrading the device will only take about 2-4 minutes.
Make sure your phone has 15% battery life or more.
The upgrade is not compatible for customers that have modified their operating system software.
During the upgrade process, do not pull the battery from the device.
The following will be erased from the phone's internal memory when you upgrade: Applications, Contacts, Calendar, E-mail, Photos, Music, Call and Message logs. See below on how to backup this data.
How do I get this upgrade?
Stop in a Cincinnati Bell store near you. Click below for a list of locations.
Or you can attempt to upgrade it yourself. NOTE: If this method does not work for you, we recommend going in-store for the upgrade.
When upgrading the software, the following will be erased from the phone's internal memory:
Applications, Contacts, Calendar, E-mail, Photos, Music, Call and Message logs. We recommend the following:
To backup your applications and other data use applications such as:
Astro - Backup your personal information, applications, and more to your memory card.
AppBrain - AppBrain can help you easily install and manage your applications from the web browser
For customers that do not back up their contacts with Gmail we recommend the following to backup your contacts:
Click on the "Contacts" icon
Select the Menu key
Select Import/Export
Select Export to SD
If you do back up your contacts with Gmail, make sure autosync is enabled on your device.
NOTE: Google™ syncs your contacts and other info on Android phones. First, you can verify your Google™ login and password by signing in to Gmail™ on a computer at http://www.gmail.com. Here you can also see your Blaze Gmail, Calendar, and contacts there that Google™ has backed up online. These will be safely stored online during the upgrade and can sync back down to your Blaze once you log back in using this same Google™ account login.
