Save all of life's special moments, whether you are out with your friends, at home with the kids, or just see something and must take a picture. Pix2pc is the easiest way to save all of your camera phone pictures to your home computer, e-mail, and favorite Web photo albums. Print your mobile photos from home, share them with family and friends, and keep everything organized like never before. Just point, click, save, and pix2pc takes care of the rest. Finally…your pictures are wireless too!
Pix2pc was designed so you do not have to make any changes in your picture taking routine. Just as before, you take pictures, save them on your phone, and go about your day. Between the hours of 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM, pix2pc will display a reminder asking if you would like to send your photos. When your phone gives you a pix2pc reminder, press the center button, and all new photos will be sent to the destinations you have selected. It's that easy!
You can send photos to your My Pictures folder on your PC, to your e-mail, and to Web photo albums including Flickr, Photobucket, Snapfish, and Blogger.
The pix2pc service costs $2.99 per month for unlimited picture sending. For a limited time, pix2pc is FREE for the first 2 months when you sign up! Standard data charges apply.
Yes, pix2pc requires a data plan. An unlimited data plan is recommended, however you may use pix2pc with any data plan.
To have multiple pix2pc users on the same PC, each person must have their own user account, or profile, on the computer. Once the PC software is set up by one user, it will be available for all users. When these other users run the PC software for the first time, they will be prompted for their phone number and will need to complete the setup process for their own photo destinations.
If you have a supported phone, there are three ways to get the pix2pc setup: 1) simply call 611 and ask for pix2pc. 2) Go into any retail store and ask for pix2pc. 3) Login to your account online. You'll be able to add pix2pc from the list of services available. Once you have the service running on your phone, you will receive an email to download and install the PC client. If you'd prefer to install the software from the web, you can download it here (note the pc software will not work unless the mobile service is setup first).
Once you have pix2pc set up on your phone, an e-mail will be delivered to your inbox with step by step instructions. Following these instructions should take about five (5) minutes. The hardware/software requirements for your PC are; Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista, 8MB of free hard disk space, and ZoomTown or Fuse*. If you do not have a Windows XP or Vista PC available, pix2pc will still send photos to your e-mail, but it will not send them to your My Pictures folder or your Web albums. (*will also work with other internet providers)
No. You can send any photo that has been taken with your camera phone.
No. Send as many as you like!
With pix2pc there is no additional cost no matter how many pictures you send. Standard data charges apply. Pix2pc is a separate service from MMS and does not cover any phone to phone picture messages.
No. Unlike MMS, pictures that come through pix2pc are exactly the same as when you took them. There is no loss of quality.
Pictures are sent as soon as you run the application, though actual upload times may vary due to network conditions and the number of photos being uploaded. The first time you set up a Web photo album destination, it may take up to 24 hours for the pictures to arrive. If pictures aren't arriving in your e-mail inbox, check your junk or spam folder. To make sure your pictures are delivered, set up your PC software by visiting www.cincinnatibell.com/pix2pc.
Open the pix2pc software and you will see a list of destinations. Each one will have the address where the images are being delivered and a "Change" link on the right. Click "Change" and enter the e-mail address where you would like your photos sent.
Enter the pix2pc application and click "Menu," scroll down and select "Photo destinations". From there, scroll down to where you see your e-mail address and press the right arrow key. You may enter any e-mail address to be used for photo delivery. The next time you run pix2pc it will send to the new e-mail address you provided.
Yes. Every time pix2pc runs it detects and sends all photos that are new since the last time it ran. The very first time you run pix2pc, it will send all of the photos you have taken and saved on your phone. Any copyrighted materials such as wallpapers or graphics that you have downloaded to your phone will not be sent.
If the pictures are in your e-mail, you can simply forward the message. If the pictures are on your PC, you can send them as e-mail attachments. If the pictures are on a web site, you can give your friends the address so they can see them. You can still use MMS to send pictures phone-to-phone as well. Standard charges for MMS apply.
Your pictures will be sent automatically the next time you run the pix2pc application.
No, once the picture is saved to your phone it is ready to be sent with pix2pc.
No. Clicking "Send" will let you compose an MMS picture message. This lets you send photos to your friends' cell phones. This is not a pix2pc service, and separate charges may apply. Pix2pc will still send those same photos to your computer or online destinations.
First, make sure that your new handset is compatible with the pix2pc service. Second, check to see if pix2pc is already loaded on your new device. If so, you will need to have your pix2pc service deactivated and reactivated by calling Cincinnati Bell Customer Support or going to a Cincinnati Bell store. If the application is not preloaded on your new device, ask the sales representative to provision it for you in the store. You must also uninstall and reinstall the PC software application. You will receive a link for this in email, or it can be downloaded directly from www.cincinnatibell.com/pix2pc. Note that all of your photo destinations will need to be reconfigured.
After you set up pix2pc for your home computer, you will be able to see tabs with each of your web destinations. The set up process is as follows:
The next time your computer is turned on and connected to the network, the pictures will be delivered to your computer. Pictures will be delivered to e-mail and web site destinations even when your computer is turned off or disconnected from the network.
Yes. When you are online, the pictures will be delivered to your computer. If you have Zoomtown high-speed internet and are always online, your pictures will be saved to your computer shortly after the application has finished running. If you do not have high-speed internet, you will need to dial up before the pictures will be delivered to your PC. Pictures will be delivered to e-mail and web site destinations even when your computer is not dialed in.
Yes. Pix2pc is a great way to save or "backup" all your photos from your phone to your PC. Once the pictures are saved in your My Pictures folder, Zoomtown Backup will save them from your PC, providing a third layer of security for all the memories you want preserved. Visit www.cincinnatibell.com/ZTstorage for more details.
Once you have set up your web destinations for your photos, you can direct your friends and family to view them at those sites over the mobile web. For example, if you have set up a PhotoBucket account, you can direct your friends to your PhotoBucket URL on their mobile browser, where they can see your photos that you have.
If you wish for your photos to never be sent, open pix2pc on your phone or PC and uncheck all destinations. All photos taken while there are no destinations selected will be skipped the next time pix2pc is run on your phone. If you want the photos to be sent, but at a later date, wait until the next time you are reminded to run pix2pc, and decline to run the application. This will cause it to stop reminding you until you choose to run the application manually. The next time you run it, all the photos you have taken since your last upload will be sent.
Pix2pc works anywhere in the United States. However, additional charges may apply for international data roaming. To prevent charges while roaming internationally, do not run pix2pc on your phone. See "How do I stop pix2pc from sending photos?" for information on how to suspend the active sending of your images.
Many prompts when starting or using pix2pc are the result of the security system on your phone. Pix2pc needs to be able to access the file folders on your phone in order to look for photos. It also needs to access the network in order to send your photos. To disable these prompts:
You can also visit any Cincinnati Bell location to have them assist you in disabling these prompts.
If the service is not reminding you once a day, it may need to be run once manually. Press the center button to enter the menu and click on "Apps". Once in "Apps", scroll down until you find pix2pc. If you do not find it, check in "Games" or "Collection". Once you have found the application, highlight it, and run. Your service will now remind you once a day.
If a copy is downloaded over a pre-installed application, both copies of the application should be deleted. Also, the service must be deactivated and reactivated in either a Cincinnati Bell store or over the phone with Cincinnati Bell Customer Support.
In this case, the person who gave the phone away needs to deactivate their service and reactivate it on their new device if they wish to continue using it. This can be done at a Cincinnati Bell store or over the phone with Cincinnati Bell Customer Support. If this is not done, the charges will continue to be billed to the first owner of the phone with pix2pc installed. The person who received the phone must delete the application entirely off their phone, and provision the service from the beginning.
One possibility is that when the service prompted you to link to your PC for the first time, you said no. Another possibility is that something failed in the middle of linking to your PC. To resolve this issue, take a new picture and run the application. Once the application has finished running, open the PC software and enter your phone number again.
Yes, unless the settings on the phone have been changed by the user. The data session and application should be suspended until after the call. The handset software uses the data connection to deliver photos, and to synchronize destination settings between it and the PC client software. These data connections are brief and intermittent, and most handsets will pause the data connection to allow for incoming calls and messages.
No. Only photos that are stored in the Gallery on the phone or the memory card will be saved.
Go into the menu, click "Apps", highlight pix2pc, click on "Options", and select "Update Version". If you have already deleted the half-installed application, try going back into "Apps", then "Web", then "Service Inbox". If there is a message titled "Install pix2pc", click it to restart the download. If there is no such message, go to a Cincinnati Bell store or call Cincinnati Bell Customer Support to deactivate and reactivate the application.
If pix2pc is not in the top directory of "Apps", try looking in "Games" or "Collection".
If you rename a photo on the handset, that photo may be the first or last picture sent. If you are sending to Web albums, they may have their own queuing system which changes the order as well. Also, if you have some pictures saved to your phone and some saved to your memory card, the pictures saved to the phone will always be sent first.
If this happens, run the application manually and allow it to advance through all of the screens automatically (do not try to speed it up by clicking through). Once this is finished the new settings will be put in place and your pictures will go to the correct destinations.
When pix2pc is removed from an account, the service will be shut off. If the feature is re-added to the account, the service begins working again, but there will not be a new WAP push message sent to allow the application to be re-downloaded. In that case, pix2pc must be downloaded again by using the following link from the device: http://mobile.prod.cb.ontela.com/cinbell1/jds/omsclient.jad
This most likely happened because the application asked if it should run pix2pc and it was told not to. This will cause it to stop all reminders. To fix this, run the application once manually and it will begin displaying reminders again.
Take a picture, run pix2pc, and the PC will connect automatically to the phone in the next few minutes.
If you take a photo and use that as your wallpaper, that image will also be saved using pix2pc. However, if you purchase a premium image for use as a wallpaper, this image will not be saved using pix2pc. That is because premium images are have usage rights enforced by DRM and pix2pc cannot process these.
