What is a polyphonic ringtone?

Polyphonic ringtones are the latest advance in ringtones available with the Next Generation (GSM/GPRS) wireless service. They consist of multiple tracks of notes that approximate the sounds of some of the instruments used in the song. This gives polyphonic ringtones a much richer sound and near CD sound.

Is it possible to preview a ringtone?

Yes, you can preview ringtones by pressing the 'Listen Now' link. It's a good idea to preview your ringtones prior to ordering them to ensure that you will be happy with your purchase.

Does the price vary for polyphonic ringtones and graphics?

Currently, all ringtones and graphics are $2 each plus tax, which will be billed to the wireless invoice. Prices are subject to change.

How do I know what phone model I have?

How many ringtones can I buy at one time?

You can purchase one ringtone per order. However, you may place as many orders as you like.

Does my phone have to be turned on in order for me to receive my ringtone or graphic?

The phone must be turned on, and be receiving a sufficient signal.

Where do I have to physically be located in order to receive ringtones and graphics?

You can receive ringtones and graphics anywhere in the Cincinnati Bell Wireless coverage area. That is, anywhere you can receive a text message

Can I receive ringtones and graphics while I am using my phone?

No. If you are talking on your phone when your ringtone or graphic is sent, we will not be able to send to your phone. However, the network will attempt to resend the message to you for up to 72 hours. Once you hang up, you should be able to receive your ringtones and/or graphics.

How long will it take to receive my ringtone or graphic?

You should receive your ringtone or graphic within minutes. Please note that sometimes there is high traffic volume in our network, which can delay the delivery of your ringtone or graphic. Please allow 24 hours to receive your ringtone. If you have not received your ringtone after 24 hours, please see the "What do I do if I didn't receive my ringtone?" information below.

Once I activate my new phone, how soon can I download new ringtones?

You must have also activated text messaging when you activate your phone in order to be able to receive the new ringtone. Text messaging will take about 24 hours to be activated. Once this occurs, you may successfully download a ringtone.

How many ringtones and graphics can I send to my phone?

This depends on the wireless phone that you have. Please refer to your phone's user manual to determine you phone's capacity. Please note: once you reach the maximum, you may still change those ringtones and graphics, however, you will have to replace a ringtone or graphic that you have already saved with the new one. Once a ringtone or graphic has been replaced, it will no longer be saved into your phone's memory. We recommend that if you are sending several ringtones, please wait until you receive the previous tone before sending the next tone.

Can I delete a ringtone from my phone?

It is not possible to "delete" a ringtone from your phone after you have saved it. However, the next time you download a ringtone, when you choose to save it, you may select to overwrite the one that you wish to remove.

Will I delete a downloaded ringtone if I restore factory settings?

Restoring the factory settings will not adversely affect the items that are stored in the memory of a phone.

If my phone is repaired, will I retain the downloaded ringtone?

There is always a chance that a software upgrade will be performed on a phone as a result of or in the course of a repair. Because of this, the chance exists that items stored in memory will be deleted during a repair.

What if I didn't receive my ringtone or graphic?

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure that your phone is powered on and that you are receiving a strong signal.
  2. 24 hours to receive your ringtone. Sometimes there can be high traffic volume on the network, which can delay the delivery of your ringtone.
  3. Verify that you have a compatible phone model. (Nokia 3595, 3600, 6200 or Siemens S56)
We realize, however, that occasionally, errors may occur and you may not always receive your ringtone or graphic. As a result, we have made special arrangements for all your orders to be available for you to re-send to your phone at no additional charge for up to 72 hours. After 72 hours, you will need to reorder your ringtones and graphics.
If you have a compatible phone model, have input your mobile phone number correctly, and still have not received your ringtone or graphic, please submit an email to cbwireless@cinbell.com. Please provide:
  1. Your Name
  2. Your Wireless Phone Number
  3. The last 4 digits of your social security number
  4. Email Address
  5. The ring tone you attempted to download
  6. Brief Description of the problem

I saved a few ringtones to my phone. How do I switch ringtones among those that I've downloaded?

Assuming you have correctly downloaded and saved ringtones on your phone, you can access the ringtones again if you should want to switch your active ringtone. Use your phone's menu and follow the instructions below:

  1. Select Gallery - View Folders
  2. Select Tones, Options Open
  3. Scroll until you find the ringtone you wish to access
  4. Select Options
  5. Scroll to "Set as Ringtone" That's it! Enjoy your new ringtone! (Note: Refer to your phone's User Guide for more detailed instructions)

I saved a graphic on my phone. Now, how do I find it?

Your graphics are saved on your phone and accessed by using your phone menu:

  1. Select Gallery - View Folders
  2. Select Graphics, Options Open
  3. Scroll until you find the graphic you wish to access
  4. Select Options
  5. Scroll to the option you want (open, send, etc.)

What is a ringback tone?

Ringback Tones let you replace the standard ringing sound that a caller normally hears while they wait for you to answer your phone. They allow someone calling you to hear the tone that you have assigned, in place of the standard ringing sound. You can choose from thousands of Ringback Tone tracks and have fun assigning different tracks to different individuals, groups, moods and/or times of day! Login to the Wireless Web Portal to begin downloading ringback tones.
